CASTELGANDOLFO COUNTRY CLUB

18 holes, 3 lakes, 93 bunkers in a single glance.
Design by Robert Trent Jones Sr

A villa of the ‘600 built by the Cardinal Flavio Chigi, nephew of Pope Alexander VII, stands on the edge of a volcanic crater that the imagination of Robert Trent Jones Sr has turned into a challenging golf with interesting technical aspects; the ground, already naturally predisposed, welcomes 93 bunkers, 3 ponds, artificial obstacles and many other pitfalls among olive trees, oaks and pines.

The balcony of the club house offers a fascinating and complete panorama of the course: the 18 holes can be embraced in a single look, giving the feeling of an intimate and evocative atmosphere, while four centuries of history provide protection within the walls of the club house and the seafront shines in the background.
